Is MVBH a residential treatment center?

No. MVBH is an outpatient facility. You live at home and attend treatment during scheduled hours—whether that's full days for PHP, half days for IOP, or weekly sessions for OP. We do not provide residential, inpatient, or overnight care.

What does DPH-licensed mean?

DPH stands for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Our license means we meet state standards for safety, clinical quality, and ethical care in substance use and mental health treatment.

Do you treat only substance use, or mental health too?

We treat both. MVBH provides integrated care for mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring (dual diagnosis) conditions. Many individuals benefit from addressing both at the same time.

Can I work or go to school while in treatment at MVBH?

It depends on the level of care. Full Day Treatment requires 6+ hours per day and may not be compatible with full-time work or school. Half Day Treatment and Outpatient are more flexible and designed to fit around other responsibilities. Our team will help determine the right balance for your situation.

Do you accept insurance?

Coverage varies by plan. We recommend contacting our admissions team at 978-233-9597 to verify your benefits and understand your out-of-pocket costs before starting treatment.

Can I do treatment virtually?

Yes. We offer Virtual IOP across Massachusetts via a secure telehealth platform. Virtual IOP provides the same clinical programming as in-person Half Day Treatment but allows you to participate from home.

What if I need detox or inpatient care first?

MVBH does not provide detox or inpatient services. If you need medical detoxification or acute stabilization, we can help connect you to appropriate resources. Once you're medically stable, you can transition to outpatient care with us.
