MVBH Editorial Policy

How MVBH researches, writes, sources, reviews, and updates mental health and substance use content.

MVBH articles with a named byline are authored by Tim Francis, SUD and Behavioral Health Expert, and medically reviewed by Maureen McMahon, MS, MBA, LADC-1, Clinical Director. Older or general pages may use the transparent organizational byline MVBH Editorial Team.

Who creates MVBH content

Articles that display Tim Francis as the author identify his role as SUD and Behavioral Health Expert. Articles that display Maureen McMahon as the medical reviewer identify her credentials as MS, MBA, LADC-1 and her role as Clinical Director.

MVBH Editorial Team is an organizational byline, not the name of an individual clinician. It remains the byline for older or general pages that do not have an approved individual author attribution.

We do not invent staff names, credentials, clinical reviewers, awards, outcomes, insurance participation, or service details. A named author or clinical reviewer is shown only after that person's name, role, and credentials have been approved for publication.

Research and sourcing standards

Clinical explanations prioritize primary and authoritative sources such as the National Institute of Mental Health, SAMHSA, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and official crisis resources. External links are selected for reader value and are not treatment-provider competitors.

Every article should answer the search question directly, distinguish education from individualized medical advice, explain when a higher or lower level of care may be appropriate, and link to relevant MVBH program, condition, admission, and contact pages where useful.

Treatment and detox scope

MVBH is an outpatient provider in Amesbury, Massachusetts. The site must not describe MVBH as inpatient, residential, overnight, emergency, or an onsite detox facility.

If detox may be needed before outpatient treatment, readers may call 978-233-9597. MVBH can help identify an outside detox provider but cannot guarantee placement, acceptance, transportation, medical clearance, or suitability.

Updates, corrections, and privacy

Articles display a publication date and a review date. Material clinical, legal, insurance, or program changes require a new review. We correct factual errors when identified.

Website forms request only the minimum contact information needed for a callback. Visitors are instructed not to submit diagnoses, symptoms, medication lists, substance use histories, dates of birth, member IDs, or other medical details through general website forms.
