Clinical Review and Sources

How public health content is kept within verified facts and review boundaries.

MVBH content is written for adults and families seeking accurate information about outpatient mental-health care in Amesbury, Massachusetts. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, an emergency service, or a substitute for an assessment. MVBH uses verified business facts and authoritative public-health sources for material clinical education, while clinical review attribution should be specific and never fabricated.

How MVBH content is prepared

MVBH’s verified content author is Tim Francis, SUD and Behavioral Health Expert. The verified medical-review role is Maureen McMahon, MS, MBA, LADC-1, Clinical Director. A page should not imply a review that has not occurred, add credentials that are not verified, or use generic editorial-team language as a substitute for named accountability.

Business facts are checked against the MVBH factual-claims register. High-risk statements about programs, location, insurance, emergency care, detox, virtual-care boundaries, credentials, and outcomes must remain within those verified facts.

Clinical sources and corrections

Material clinical education should use authoritative, non-competitor sources that directly support the nearby statement. Examples include the National Institute of Mental Health, SAMHSA, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and the 988 Lifeline. A source should not be presented as endorsing MVBH.

If content appears inaccurate, outdated, or unclear, contact MVBH through the appropriate public channel. Do not send personal health information in a general web form.

What MVBH pages should never promise

Pages should not promise insurance coverage, a particular start date, outcomes, emergency availability, detox placement, transportation, medical clearance, or a universal clinical recommendation. MVBH is an outpatient facility and does not provide emergency, hospital, residential, overnight, or onsite detox care.

This policy makes the site more useful by distinguishing public education from the individualized clinical conversation that must happen offline.

Treatment terminology notice: At Merrimack Valley Behavioral Health, our day-based programs are referred to as Full Day Treatment and Half Day Treatment. In Massachusetts, insurance providers commonly refer to these levels of care as PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program) and IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program). Any reference to PHP or IOP on this site refers to our Full Day Treatment or Half Day Treatment programs.
Detox scope: MVBH does not provide detox onsite. If detox may be needed before outpatient treatment, call our team. We can help identify an appropriate outside detox provider, but cannot guarantee placement, acceptance, transportation, medical clearance, or suitability.
If you are in crisis or having thoughts of suicide: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 911. MVBH is not an emergency service.
