Mental Health Treatment for College Students in Massachusetts
College students face a unique set of pressures—academic demands, identity exploration, social transitions, financial stress, and sometimes the first separation from family support. At Merrimack Valley Behavioral Health, we provide outpatient mental health and substance use treatment designed to meet college students where they are, with flexible scheduling and evidence-based care that respects the complexity of this life stage.
Our programs serve adults 18 and older throughout Massachusetts. Whether you attend a local university, commute from the North Shore or Merrimack Valley, or study remotely, our Virtual IOP and in-person options at 77 Elm St in Amesbury offer HIPAA-protected, trauma-informed care that can fit around class schedules, exams, and campus life.
We are not a residential program or campus counseling center—we are a DPH-licensed outpatient facility offering structured day programs and individual therapy for students who need more support than weekly counseling but do not require hospitalization. Treatment is designed to help you build skills, process trauma, manage co-occurring conditions, and return to academic and personal goals with greater stability.
