Mental Health & Substance Use Treatment for Women in Massachusetts

Women face unique mental health challenges shaped by biological, social, and experiential factors. Merrimack Valley Behavioral Health (MVBH) offers outpatient mental health and substance use treatment designed specifically to honor and address these needs. Located at 77 Elm St in Amesbury, Massachusetts, and available statewide through Virtual IOP, our DPH-licensed programs serve adult women (18+) across the Commonwealth.

We provide trauma-informed, evidence-based care for women managing depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders, perinatal mental health challenges, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Our approach recognizes the roles trauma, relationships, identity, and systemic pressures play in women's mental health. Treatment is collaborative, compassionate, and built around your strengths and recovery goals.

MVBH is an outpatient facility. We do not provide overnight care, medical detox, or 24-hour supervision. For acute crises, suicidal ideation, or severe self-harm, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or 911.
